Overview
The Voluntary Vulnerable Persons Registry (VVPR) is intended to help the Township of Limerick better support residents who may require additional consideration during emergences. Through voluntary registration, residents can provide information that may assist municipal staff and emergency responders in planning and responding during situations such as severe weather events, extended power outages, evacuations, or other community emergencies. The overall goal of the program is to enhance emergency preparedness within the community and improve awareness of residents who may require additional support during emergency situations.
Information collected through the registry may assist the Township of Limerick with emergency planning efforts, communication during emergency situations, and wellness checks when appropriate. The registry may also help provide emergency responders with general awareness of potential needs within the community. Participation in the program is completely voluntary and does not guarentee emergency service or response. Residents continue to be responsible for maintaining their own emergency preparedness plans are are encouraged to call 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency. Registrants are encouraged to keep their information current should their circumstances change.
The registry is intended for residents who may benefit from additional assistance or consideration during emergencies. This may include individuals who live alone, have mobility challenged, are blind or have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, have developmental or cognitive conditions, experience mental health challenges that may affect emergency response, depend on electrically powered medical equipment, require additional time or support to evacuate safely, or do not have consistent 24-hour support available.
