Why use Electronic Voting?
There are many advantages to adopting this method of voting in Limerick Township:
Convenience and Safety: Voting by internet or telephone does not require large gatherings at polling locations and allows electors to vote from the comfort and safety of their own homes.
Efficiency: This method reduces printing and return postage costs, staff time required for vote counting, and the overall amount of paper used.
Accessibility: Electronic voting provides a convenient option for electors, allowing them to use their own devices and access their ballots anytime during the voting period, from anywhere with internet or telephone access.
Accuracy: Electronic voting uses digital ballots exclusively, reducing the potential for counting errors associated with manual tabulation.
Automatic Tabulation: Election results will be available shortly after 8:00 p.m. on October 26, once all voting has concluded.
Flexibility for Non-Resident Electors: Many Limerick Township property owners do not live in the municipality year-round. Electronic voting ensures all eligible electors have equal opportunity to vote from a location that is convenient for them. Unlike mail-in voting used in the past, voters will not need to locate a postal box or rely on mail delivery to ensure their ballot is returned to the Municipal Office on time.
