8 Days, 2 Ways; Voting Held from October 19th to 26th, 2026 by Internet and Telephone Voting
Internet/Telephone Voting will be used for the 2026 Municipal Election – the same method used in 2022. Between 8:30am on October 19th to 8:00pm on October 26, 2026, electors will be able to vote remotely using their own devices in the comfort of their home.
Are you on the Voter’s List?
The Voter’s List is a list of eligible electors in the Township of Limerick. After September 1st, 2026 you must update, change or remove your information directly at the Township of Limerick Municipal Office
To verify that you are on the Voter’s List, please contact the Municipal Office. You will need to show identity and qualifying address ( a complete list of accepted voter identification can be found here: O. Reg. 304/13 VOTER IDENTIFICATION | ontario.ca).
Students Living Away From Home
If you are a student and consider your “home” to be the place where you live when you are not attending school, which means you plan on returning there, then you are eligible to vote in both your “home” municipality and in the municipality where you currently live while attending school.
Voting in More Than One Municipality
You can be a resident elector in only one municipality. If you own or rent property in a municipality, but it’s not the one where you live, you are a non-resident elector. You can be a non-resident elector in any other municipality (or municipalities) where you own or rent property. A spouse of a non-resident elector is also eligible to vote in in the municipality or municipalities other than the one where you live. Neither you nor your spouse qualify as a non-resident elector if you do not personally own or rent the property in the municipality.
If you are not certain whether you qualify as a non-resident elector you should check with the Clerk’s Office.
School Support
As of January 1, 2024, the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (“MPAC”) is no longer responsible for collecting voter information for local elections. However, MPAC is legislatively required to collect school support designations.

Voter Eligibility
You are eligible to vote if you are:
- A Canadian citizen; and
- At least 18 years old; and
- A resident in Limerick Township; or
- A property owner or tenant or the spouse or same sex partner of an owner or tenant in the municipality during a specified time just before the election.
You may only vote once in the Limerick municipal election regardless of how many properties you own or rent within the township. You may also vote in multiple Municipal Elections if you own property outside of Limerick Township.

Individuals are prohibited to vote on Voting Day if they are:
- Serving a sentence of imprisonment in a penal or correctional institution
- A corporation
- Acting as executor or trustee in another representative capacity, except as a voting proxy
- Convicted of a corrupt practice described in section 90 of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996

Limerick Township will post the names of candidates online and at the Municipal Office as candidates file their nomination papers.
The list of certified candidates will be available following Certification Day on Monday, August 24, 2026.
