Municipal and School Board Elections
The Township of Limerick holds municipal and school board elections every four years in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. The Clerk’s Office is responsible for administering elections for Mayor, Councillors, and School Board Trustees. This page provides information for voters, candidates and those interested in school board trustee elections.
Upcoming 2026 Municipal and School Board Election
Election Day: Monday, October 26, 2026
Candidate Nomination Period: May 1, 2026 to August 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
Eligible electors will be able to participate in the election for Mayor, Councillors, and School Board Trustees. Additional information regarding voting methods, candidate requirements, and key dates will be provided as the election approaches.
Voter Information
To ensure you are eligible to vote, it is important that your information is accurate on the Voters’ List. If you have moved, changed your name, or turned 18 since the 2022 Municipal and School Board Elections, you may not appear on the current list.

Voter Registration is an online tool that allows eligible Ontario voters to:

- Update their details
- Add themselves to the Voters’ List
- Remove outdated information
This applies to both municipal council and school board trustee elections.
School Support Designation
Your school support designation determines which school board trustee you are eligible to vote for. To confirm or update your school support designation, please visit the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) website here.
